One-way glass has a specialized reflective coating on one side. It is widely used in commercial and residential applications for its low-emissivity properties and for privacy. When one side of the glass is brightly lit and the other is dark, it allows viewing from the darkened side, but not vice versa.The most common application of this type of glass is low-emissivity windows for vehicles, housing, and architectural buildings. Its low-emissivity property allows buildings to remain cooler in warm climates by reflecting more solar radiation than normal glass, and warmer in cool climates by trapping solar radiation inside.
